Soundfix Instores

Soundfix have just announced their next batch of instores! The previous one's have been great, although I've been forced to miss a lot of them, much to my chagrin. Regardless, here are the new dates/shows:

Wednesday June 21st - 8 PM - Sister Suvi and Ruth Garbus
A freak-folk festivus! Sister Suvi, a side project of Patrick Gregoire of Islands, makes spare, experimental folk that will appeal to Animal Collective fans. Ruth Garbus of Feathers will perform a solo set as well.

Saturday June 24th - 4 PM - Barbara Morgenstern
Delightful electro pop from Germany's Morgenstern

Saturday July 8th - 4PM - Shearwater
Led by songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Meiburg, Austin's Shearwater delivers an austere folk fused with static, distortion, disorienting soundscapes, pop, and psychedelia. Rare acoustic set!

Saturday July 22nd - 4PM - The Instruments and New Sound of Numbers
A special visit from the Athens, Georgia, chamber-pop group the Instruments. Led by Heather McIntosh (Circulatory System, Elf Power), the group makes lush and atmospheric folk. A New Sound of Numbers, whose debut album comes out in September on Cloud Recordings, also featuring McIntosh with Hannah Jones, serves up a Slits- and Raincoats-inspired angular indie rock.
