Why Don't I Live In Europe?!

Wow, this is a kick in the crotch! I just read this on the official Chuck Palahniuk website: Two of my all-time favorite authors are doing readings at the Brighton Festival, Corn Exchange, Saturday May 7th. Tickets are 7£. Can someone please go to this and report back to me? I'd be eternally grateful!

"Chuck Palahniuk and Irvine Welsh

Chuck Palahniuk's unique brand of muscular nihilism first set the quiet world of contemporary literature into a tailspin with his howl of millennium rage Fight Club, later immortalised in David Fincher's film. Like his novels, his readings are visceral, hilarious, often outrageous and always wholly unpredictable.

The career path of Irvine Welsh has followed a similar trajectory. His cult classic Trainspotting, Filth, Glue, Pornofollowed - exuberant and unsettling tales of an urban underclass. Two cultural iconoclasts. One exclusive Brighton Festival literary coup! tipped the literary world on its axis. Danny Boyle's film adaptation became the movie milestone of the decade."
