One Beast of a Tour

Today starts Mogwai's new tour to support their newest album Mr. Beast that is available March 7th in the US, March 6th in Europe. I happen to be excited, as this happens to be one of my favorite bands, so I'm waiting with bated breath for this album and tour.

Here's a link to one of the shows they played in my opinion in 2004, care of Etree. The show is from the All Tomorrows Parties Festival on March 26, 2004, you can download it here.

The first 10 shows they play in the US they will be supported by a band called Growing. They are a two piece band from Olympia, WA, and they have two LP's out, and a third will be released in April of this year called "Color Wheel". Their sound is reminiscent of Sonic Youth meeting up with the likes of God Speed You Black Emperor! and Explosions in the Sky. There are no drums present in their live shows.
